U.S. Senator Ron Wyden recognized four Portland-area student leaders with Congressional Award Medals at a special award ceremony hosted at KCE's Corporate office on Friday, April 12.
Each year, Congress recognizes outstanding young people with Congressional Awards. The awards acknowledge each student's extraordinary accomplishments in four areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness and Expedition/Exploration. The award is the highest honor bestowed upon youth through the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. KCE Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kelsey Troy was recently appointed to the Congressional Awards board.
After the ceremony, Senator Wyden hosted a town hall with KCE employees to address today's most pressing issues and local opportunities.
In line with his commitment to STEM education, Senator Wyden also visited our Downtown Portland KinderCare to participate in a science experiment with young children and learn more about our STEM program expansion. The visit was covered by local news. Watch the full news clip.
